Inspired by Experience

Sometimes the most important lessons about planning for the future come from the moments you never saw coming.

My journey into this industry began with a deeply personal experience that reshaped how I view financial planning and protection.

My mother had been a very healthy and independent person for most of her life. In her mid-70s, she experienced a sudden health issue that required a hospital visit, but the full picture was not clearly understood at the time. Over the years that followed, her condition gradually changed. What initially seemed like minor health challenges eventually became something much more serious, impacting her mobility, independence, and overall quality of life.

As her condition progressed, our family stepped in to provide care and support. I eventually brought her to live with us so she could be closer to family and receive the care she needed. While we were able to adjust and do what was necessary, what became very clear over time was how unprepared we were for the emotional, physical, and financial demands that come with long-term care needs.

There was no life insurance in place for these circumstances, and no long-term care planning to help ease the burden. While we make it work as a family, the experience opened my eyes to how quickly life can change — and how important it is to have the right tools in place before you ever need them.

Today, I see financial planning differently. Being prepared for the future — income, retirement, and financial stability — is essential, but it's also about preparation, dignity, and making sure families have options when life takes an unexpected turn.

My goal is to help others understand these risks ahead of time, so they are not forced to make decisions under stress, confusion, or financial pressure.
